Announcing RRSChat Times and Topics for Fall 2014

The Rethinking Resource Sharing Committee is excited to announce that we will be hosting another series of monthly Twitter chats this Fall, starting next Monday (September 29th) at 2pm EST.

Our first topic will be: “Let’s Talk About Workflow”. How does your library staff ILL request processing. Does an MLS process your requests? Do paraprofessionals? Students? And do you share your ILL workflows with other units? Let’s compare notes and see what everyone is doing.

Join us on the ‪#‎RRSChat‬ hashtag next Monday (9/29) at 2pm EST!

Here is a schedule of future chats and chat topics:

Monday, October 27th @ 2pm EST. “Buy vs. Borrow”. We will discuss the changing role of purchasing materials in ILL workflows, addressing such topics as practicality, legality, GIST, and whether or not ILL “belongs” in collection development.

Monday, November 17th @ 2pm EST. “Scan All The Things!” Scanning operations and resource sharing. What does your library scan? ILL, document delivery, reserves, special collections… or even other things? A discussion of the role of digitization in the ILL shop.
