(July 2024) The Rethinking Resource Sharing Initiative (RRSI) will be restarting during the fall 2024 following an extended hiatus during the pandemic. Keep an eye on this website for more information. Contact Lars Leon, Univ. of Kansas Libraries, lleon@ku.edu if you are interested in helping with any aspect of our restart. A new Executive Board will be formed to provide leadership on projects including some of the following.
The following are historical actions by RRSI that may continue in the future depending on interests.
There are several ways to become involved in the Rethinking Resource Sharing Initiative:
- Fill out the STAR Checklist and become a STAR library!
- Start your own grassroots effort! Introduce the Manifesto and the STAR Checklist to other staff at your library or in your region, or give a presentation at a local or regional meeting — feel free to get in touch with a member of the Steering Committee to discuss adapting a presentation for your local community
- Join the RUSA STARS Rethinking Resource Sharing Policies Committee–just write to a member of the Steering Committee and we’ll get you started!
- Nominate an individual or institution Rethinking Resource Sharing Innovation Award to recognize changes they have made to improve users’ access to information through resource sharing in their library, consortium, state, province or country!
