Who We Are
We are an ad hoc group of individuals working in library resource sharing. We volunteer our time to the Rethinking Resource Sharing Initiative, an influential “think tank” that has helped define and promote best practices, has served as a catalyst for systematic change, and has challenged libraries worldwide to rethink resource sharing. As an independent group, we are not sponsored by any vendors or professional organizations, though we do find ways to work productively with these entities.
What We Do
We curate resources, such as the STAR Checklist, to provide libraries a way to evaluate their practices and rethink their processes. We host online events to provide opportunities for the resource sharing community to learn about, discuss, and collaborate on current issues. We celebrate collective effort and achievement by recognizing STAR Libraries and through many of our past projects.
